The recession is still responsible for a cooling economy, but the small business climate is heating up in Miami. The Kauffman Foundation recently named the Miami – Fort Lauderdale area as second busiest in the nation for new entrepreneurial activity, second only to Houston.

According to the Kauffman Foundation report, “610 out of every 100,000 people, or 0.61 percent, started a business — almost double the nationwide rate of 0.34 percent.”
