Penn State

This university offers fully furnished multiple occupancy guest suites for college students from other universities who will be participating in internships in Philadelphia. The Moulden Hall West Campus apartment building offers short term lease agreements, single bedrooms, and complimentary use of the on campus fitness center and facilities such as basketball courts and grilling areas. Moulden Hall has easy access to a train station accessing Center City Philadelphia, as well as a trolley station that links the University with downtown Philadelphia.

Airbnb is a jewel amongst interns on a budget. While the website is not necessarily geared towards students or interns, it does offer a bevy of alternatives in which summer interns can take advantage. You choose the price range and type of property you want to rent and Airbnd will connect you with thousands of hosts around the world who have listed their properties for rent. Drexel University

Another local university offering affordable housing for the summer is Drexel University. Drexel offers short term housing in residence halls for summer interns in Philadelphia. Individuals desiring to stay in the Drexel residence halls must provide proof that they are taking part in an internship in the city. The residence hall accommodations are a convenient 15 minute walk to Center City Philadelphia between Race St. and Powell Avenue. The area is known for its diverse nightlife and cultural entertainment. Some of the amenities included in the Drexel summer residence halls are on-site laundry facilities, full kitchens, and multi-purpose rooms with television and gaming equipment.
