<p>
	What type of internship are you looking for?</strong></p>
<p>	I am currently looking for an internship that will help me grow as a visual artist and to gain experience in the professional design and fine arts industries. I bring enthusiasm to learn and work hard to achieve whatever challenge is set before me. I thrive in an environment of responsibility and encourage challenges outside of my knowledge and skill set. I am looking for an internship that will help me gain more knowledge in the commercial creative field with the end goal of becoming an Art Director.</p>
<p>	<strong>How does your college education make you ready for employment?</strong></p>
<p>	With my experience at San Francisco State University studying Fine Arts with a concentration in Photography, I have grown as a visual designer. Instilled within the degree I am working on allows the opportunity to learn both digital and print medias as well as design components such as typography and commercial design and display.</p>
<p>	<strong>Why would you be a great intern?</strong></p>
<p>	I have experience working in freelance visual design for clients in San Francisco and the Central Valley. As a teenager I started design concert flyers and posters for shows around our area. As my interest grew in design I moved on to more complicated projects such as commercial retail flyer, album cover design/concept, and print media. Throughout my entire work experience I have learned that everyone is important and people should be treated as such no matter how trying or difficult a day may be. With my education and experience I hope to bring a productive and comfortable environment to your company and I would try my hardest to exceed employee expectations.</p>

	<strong>Why did you choose Urban Interns?</strong></p>
<p>	There are a plethora of sites that present internships and employers in a variety of ways. Urban Interns was the first one I saw that made a concerted effort to tailor the interests of the interns to the needs of the company through a succinct and easy to manage interface. Employers on Urban Interns have real business needs and things that need to be addressed, and they are looking for intuitive and enterprising students to rise to the challenge.</p>
<p>
	<strong>What type of internship are you looking for?</strong></p>
<p>	I am looking for the type of internship where I can add value to a company by utilizing the skills and talents I am consistently honing and refining. I think nowadays, students are often too anxious to find an &ldquo;notable&rdquo; internship with a brand name company that can validate their resume. I am responsible for the brand of Jonathan Jackson, so I consciously seek experiences and opportunities that will help me improve and grow as an individual and as a professional, much like a company seeks to manage its own brand. I want to find that fit, and have the relationship be one of mutual growth and ideation for both parties. </p>
<p>
	<strong>Describe the kind of internship experience you want:</strong></p>
<p>	I am looking for an internship experience with a company that is invested in my development and utilizes my potential to address business needs. I believe I have the ability to communicate well both in both a written context and in interpersonal arenas. My experiences are tailored towards the intersection of social media, branding, and creating content that engages and inspires.</p>
<p>
	<strong>Why would you be a great intern?</strong></p>
<p>	I believe entrepreneurial spirit, insatiable hunger for progress, and work ethic are what makes me a great intern. I do not look at myself as just an intern. I look at myself as an employee. I want to add value wherever I go, and progress continually. I am also unafraid to inquire, because everyone at some point was an intern with a dream and needed information.</p>

	<strong>What type of internship are you looking for?</strong></p>
<p>	I am looking for an internship at a tech startup company. I feel I would learn the most in a start-up environment, and I would be able to share my entrepreneurial spirit. Hopefully, I can find a great match for the summer and part-time during the school year.</p>
<p>	<strong>Describe the kind of internship experience you want:</strong></p>
<p>	A great internship experience would allow me to connect with other members of the team, learn how the company operates, and explore the challenges faced by startups and ways of navigating them. Preferably, I would be doing interesting and meaningful work, where I can improve my skills and make a difference to the startup. I would like to work in a fun environment with amiable coworkers.</p>
<p>	<strong>Why would you be a great intern?</strong></p>
<p>	I would be a great intern because I have experience working in many different types of environments, with many different types of people, and doing many different jobs. This not only has given me a wider skill-set, but has allowed me to hone in on the jobs that I feel would really make a difference in my life. I am a hard, dedicated worker, a fast learner, and a good teammate. I love to learn and work with others, bettering everyone&#39;s experience.</p>

<p>	<strong><br />
	What type of internship are you looking for?</strong><br />
	I&#39;m really interested in the fields of marketing, advertising, corporate branding, public relations, and consulting. If I could get an internship that combined all of the above, I&#39;d be in heaven! Because I&#39;m set to graduate from UCLA in March 2012, I&#39;m looking for an internship that will really give me hands on experience in these areas in order to help me narrow my focus. Ultimately, I want to go to business school, so I&#39;m looking for an internship to help guide me down a path that I can pursue in my graduate career. It&#39;s also really important to me to have the potential to be &quot;hired from within&quot; &#8211; with graduation coming up, I have to start thinking more long term! Being paid is always a welcomed perk, as well.<br />
	<strong><br />
	Describe the kind of internship experience you want?</strong><br />
	I believe that an internship should be an incredible learning experience. I&#39;m still in the period of my life where my education is my primary focus, and I believe that an internship should also be a part of this. The more opportunities I have to learn and grow, the better. I also would like an internship where I can be a self-starter and prove my merit. I&#39;m a pretty black-and-white, linear thinker, but when given the opportunity to think out of the box I jump at the chance.<br />
	<strong><br />
	Why would you be a great intern?</strong><br />
	I&#39;m passionate, enthusiastic, and very adept at what I do. I think my attitude and overall view of internships and relationships sets me apart from the other students beginning to make there way into the &quot;real world.&quot; I&#39;m proud of my dependability and my ability to establish a positive rapport quickly with my employers.<br />
	<strong><br />
	Why did you choose Urban Interns?</strong><br />
	Honestly, I stumbled upon it while searching for a summer job last year. I liked the &quot;user friendliness&quot; of the site, and when I began getting contacted regularly by employers, I realized that it was a great way to get my name and resume out there. The accessibility that employers and interns have to one another sets it apart from the other sites that I&#39;ve found/used.</p>

<p>We asked Theresa a few questions about her experiences with Urban Interns. Here&rsquo;s what she has to say:</p>
<p><strong><br />
	What type of internship are you looking for?</strong><br />
	I&rsquo;m looking for a virtual and paid internship in the Internet Marketing field. I&rsquo;m looking specifically for a social media and Search Engine Optimization position and a chance to learn how to run a successful business. I&rsquo;d like to run my own business when I graduate and would love to learn from someone who has been through the ropes before.</p>
<p>	<strong>Describe the kind of internship experience you want?</strong><br />
	I am looking for virtual internship experiences where I still feel a connection to the person I am working for. My hope is that our working relationship is mutual&mdash;I will offer my employer as much as he or she is willing to provide in terms of experience and opportunity. I look forward to applying everything I know from school and previous work experiences.</p>
<p>	<strong>Why would you be a great intern?</strong><br />
	I enjoy what I do and am looking for an opportunity to join a team and help a company grow to the next level. I also have a wide variety of experience. I have a graphic design degree and I&rsquo;m working towards a degree in internet marketing. I graduate in August and am always trying to teach myself more than my teachers can teach me. </p>

Read below for her advice. </p>
<p>	The holidays are a distant memory and you are experiencing the hangover via your bulging credit card bill. Not sure what to do besides dig deeper under your blanket? It&rsquo;s not that bad and here are 3 easy ways to get your new year to a fresh start. </p>
<p>	<u><strong><br />
	Ramp Up the ROTH</strong></u><br />
	I&rsquo;m a huge fan of the ROTH IRA for so many reasons. Even if you have a 401(k) or are self-employed with a SEP IRA; that&rsquo;s ok. You can still contribute to a ROTH IRA as long as you earn less than $120,000 as a single person or $179,000 as a married couple. You don&rsquo;t get any tax benefits now but the withdrawals are TAX-FREE after age 59 &frac12;. If you save the $5,000 per year for the next 30 years, you could build a next egg of over $415,000 &ndash; that is tax-free upon withdrawal! Plus there is lots of flexibility if you need to withdraw the money for a first-time home purchase or other reasons. My favorite places to open a ROTH IRA are Fidelity and Vanguard. Vanguard has a $3,000 minimum to open an account but then you can add as little as $50 a month on an ongoing basis. Fidelity has mutual funds with lower minimums. If you don&rsquo;t have enough for the minimum, T. Rowe Price waives the minimum as long as you contribute at least $75 a month automatically. No matter where you open it, make automatic contributions every month. You won&rsquo;t miss it. You can contribute as much as $5,000 per year (or $413 per month) </p>
<p>	<strong><u>Save for Summer Vacation </u></strong><br />
	It&rsquo;s hard to imagine the warm weather now but when summertime rolls around your mind wanders to that Caribbean vacation that is now 50% reduced. Or the summer share in the Hamptons. Or perhaps you want to visit a friend in San Francisco. But&hellip; you haven&rsquo;t saved for it and your savings account has more dust than dollars in it. Now is the time to create a separate savings account &ndash; apart from the emergency fund that you are contributing to every month, right?! My favorite online high interest savings account has been INGDIRECT.com but <a href="http://personalsavings.americanexpress.com/savings-product.html" target="_blank">American Express also offers a competitive rate of almost 1%</a>. I&rsquo;ve created two savings account: one for emergencies and one for &ldquo;Save to Spend&rdquo; for items like vacations and other purchases that prevent us from getting ahead.</p>
<p>	<strong><u>Get Digital with Your Money</u></strong><br />
	These days I don&rsquo;t go a day with using a personal finance app or website. I use different one for many different reasons.&nbsp; Some of my favorites:</p>
<ul>
<li>Mint.com. To view my spending for the last month and make sure I&rsquo;m spending under my total amount budgeted. I also love the snapshot feature that lets my view all my accounts, investments, debts and loans in one place.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
<li>Pennies. I want to keep an eye going forward on how much I&rsquo;m spending weekly. The tracking feature lets me set a weekly or monthly spending amount and easily input my daily expenses. I input them while I&rsquo;m standing in line getting my morning coffee. This app doesn&rsquo;t need my personal information, which can ease many of your privacy information fears.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
<li>Morningstar.com. I&rsquo;ve got my mutual funds bookmarked online and am able to easily see how they are performing especially compared to leading indices. Even though the market is volatile, I&rsquo;m able to make sure my mutual funds are doing better than the market and I&rsquo;m still in good shape. The app is easy to follow as well.</li>
</ul>

That ancient paperwork? Keep it if you need it for taxes, shred it if it&rsquo;s confidential, or recycle.</p>
<p>	During this phase you&rsquo;ll want to evaluate everything. Plan to purge outdated computer and phone equipment, antique software manuals, broken furniture, random giveaways from trade shows, and anything else that&rsquo;s not an inspiring reflection on your company. Since clutter is distracting and can kill your creativity, be ruthless! Eliminate whatever doesn&rsquo;t support you in producing your best work. Your motto here: Have fun, keep it light, let it go.</p>
<p>	<strong>Step 2: Archive the old stuff.</strong> If you need to hold onto client or tax files but don&rsquo;t need to access them regularly, move them out of your active work space. Consider a closet down the hall, a basement or garage, or perhaps spring for off-site storage. Your sanity will thank you. </p>
<p>	<strong>Step 3: Set up systems that support you. </strong>Your goal now is to organize what&rsquo;s left based on frequency of use. The most valuable real estate should be allocated to items that contribute most to your productivity. Ideally, your desk will be practically empty, except for your computer and perhaps a pad and some pens &#8211; whatever you use daily. Things you use regularly &#8211; like current files and a subset of key office supplies &#8211; should be within arm&rsquo;s reach. You want these to be convenient but not in your way. And things that you use rarely &#8211; like extra ink cartridges and printer paper &#8211; can be down the hall, or on shelves high above your work space. </p>
<p>	<strong>Step 4: Maintain.</strong> Now that you&rsquo;ve got your space in shape, it won&rsquo;t magically stay that way. Plan to clear off your desk nightly, and schedule time to process your physical inbox at least weekly. Make a monthly or quarterly date with yourself to file and shred (or outsource that), and plan to archive your files yearly. </p>
<p>	<strong>Step 5: Tweak as needed. </strong>Still frustrated that you&rsquo;re missing that receipt or always running out of copy paper? Fine tune your system. Make sure you have dedicated homes for all your items. Decrease your frustration by labeling the spot something goes so others will know how to put it back. Perhaps you could benefit from a better inventory system for your office supplies, or invest in a better shredder. Whatever is holding you back from your vision of organization bliss, fix it. </p>
<p>	Once you&rsquo;ve implemented, it&rsquo;s time to kick back at your newly organized space. Can&rsquo;t you just feel your productivity soar? </p>
