Responsibilities: ReadWorks, www.ReadWorks.org, is a rapidly growing and highly regarded non-profit organization focused on closing the achievement gap in reading comprehension. We provide an online, open-access, research-based curriculum and teacher training offering for teachers.
ReadWorks now has over 15,000 registered educators (without requiring registration for access), in more than 5,000 schools across all 50 states, improving the reading comprehension of 375,000 students. For comparison, in early 2010 we were reaching 825 teachers.
We are expanding aggressively and seek someone who is smart, ambitious, and hardworking to lead our social media efforts and engage in our internal online marketing strategic planning process.
ReadWorks is at the very early stage of an aggressive online marketing and social media campaign that will peak in the early fall, allowing the prospective candidate to be fully engaged throughout the entire lifecycle of planning and executing the campaign.
ReadWorks is the result of the learning of the non-profit organization Urban Education Exchange, based in New York City.
Qualifications: Candidates must be smart, hardworking, and ambitious. They must be extremely responsible, dependable, and independent. Finally, they must really know social marketing and understand strategic decision-making.
