Dear Hiring Manager,
I am recent graduate of the University of Virginia and write to apply for the Intern Position. I have no reservation that my leadership abilities, intellect, intrapersonal skills, my exceptionally strong work ethic make me more then qualified for the position being offered.
I am fortunate to have been blessed with, and later to have the opportunity to develop the qualities that will make me your perfect hire. One of my greatest accomplishments has been my ability and courage to establish my independence from my identical triplet sisters. While establishing this independence, I have gone on to attend one of the most academically challenging Universities in the nation, become an All- American Division I athlete, succeed academically as a 6 time Dean’s list student and winner of an ACC academic scholarship given to 36 out of 10,000 athletes, and develop into a woman with a distinctive, strong, independent personality. Mediocrity has never been an option for me. I have never simply just participated in athletics or academics, I’ve excelled. I am interested in CM Media because the company and its employees are the embodiment of what I look for in the search for my ideal job. I also believe it will be the perfect environment to demonstrate my fluency in social media and impressive writing skills, while also fostering my innate PR, Marketing, and Advertising talents. While I have been a pre-medical student for the majority of my collegiate career, it has become clear to me that I have a true passion to pursue a career in the marketing industry. My Pre-Med training has helped me develop strong analytical skills, and I have greatly enjoyed the challenge. But even after countless hours of hard work, the prospect of medicine doesn’t resonate with me the way this opportunity does.
I have been a two year captain of the University of Virginia’s Division I field hockey team. Being chosen as a captain my Junior and Senior year has taught me the importance of hard work time management, effective leadership, and the need to rely on my teammates, as well as myself, to meet our expectations of success. I have lead our team to be one of the winningest teams in collegiate field hockey, playing in the Final Four for two consecutive years, while also being chosen to represent the United States as a member of the Under 21 National Team over the past two years.
A position with CM Media Consulting Group is more than just an exciting opportunity for me. I believe it is exactly what I was meant to do, and where I want to do it. Each and every day I would bring my effervescent personality, my intellectual and interpersonal skills, and my unequivocal sense of dedication to make CM Media even more of a success then it is today.
Sincerely,
Rachel Jennings
