First, I would like to thank you for taking the time and consideration to review my request to participate in your Summer Internship Program. I am confident that upon review of my resume, you will find that my academics, work experience, and leadership qualities make me a strong candidate for an internship with your company.
I have been exposed to a wide range of work experiences in my young life. Under the CFO of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, I was exposed to product control, performing profit and loss statements, branch capital equivalency calculations, reconciliation of statements, and the FX trade floor. My time at Commonwealth Bank of Australia directly exposed me not only to the operations side of banking but to the trading side as well. Working on construction sites, where I worked my way up to Assistant Project Manager, allowed me to hone my managerial skills, to keep the job on schedule and on budget. During this time, I learned to work with and supervise people of all economic and cultural backgrounds. At Vector, I learned to work the phone and excelled in the ability to sell myself to the customer, which in turn enabled me to sell the product. I enjoy working in fast-paced environments where expectations are high, teamwork essential, and results produced.
I am a self-motivated individual who takes an entrepreneurial approach to my work regardless of my title or the nature of the job position. I am highly driven and hold myself to very high standards. I am a leader by nature; as a leader I bring out the best in everyone not only effectively but also efficiently. Over the past three years, I have been the Captain and President of my college hockey team. I am respected not only by my coaches, advisors and teammates but also by the administration, board of trustees, fellow students, sponsors and fans. The hockey team was new when I arrived on campus and, after two seasons, we have gone from last place to making it to the semi-finals of the league playoffs. I have started many fundraising events such as concerts and golf tournaments. I am a firm believer in Brand Equity. I believe not only in my ability to get a southern community to recognize and respect the game of hockey, but also in my ability to speak to crowds and leave them with a passion for the game. All of these abilities would be assets to your company but my drive will allow me to excel at anything that I am challenged with.
I truly believe that, if I have the opportunity to be mentored by a company that has your talent and respect, I will flourish. As an intern, the opportunity to embrace the knowledge bestowed upon me and to meet the challenges presented to me day in and day out, would not only allow me to be a asset to your company this summer but also in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to review my resume. Feel free to contact me at ReMullin@g.cofc.edu or call me personally at 617-519-1559.
Sincerely,
Ryan E. Mullin
